Introduction

Work Stations define where certain warehouse activities are performed within WarehouseOS. 

WarehouseOS currently includes two types of Work Stations:

• Assembly work stations are used for kit assembly, where component items are combined to create finished kit inventory.
• Packing work stations are used during order fulfillment, allowing picked orders to be staged and processed for packing prior to shipment.

Locations can be assigned to a work station to be directly worked against during the different processes. For example, when assembling kits, components can be taken directly out of locations assigned to the work station to be combined. Picking is optional for the kitting process, component inventory in work station locations can be used to bypass that step.

Create a Work Station

To create a new work station go to Maint -> Work Stations -> Create New.

• Enter a Name and Description.
• Select the Type: Assembly or Packing
• Set a Facility
• Create

Once the work station has been created it will open the edit page. Details can be managed and edited under the Info tab. Locations can managed under the Locations tab.

Assign Locations to a Work Station

To assign locations to a work station, go to the work station edit page and open the Locations tab. Select the  + Assign Location button. Select a location from the list and assign.

Locations can also be assigned to a Work Station in bulk (or individually) from the Locations grid.

To assign locations in bulk:

1. Navigate to Maint → Locations.
2. Select the desired locations, or use a filter to target multiple locations at once.
3. From the bulk actions menu at the bottom of the grid, select Set Work Station.
4. Choose the Work Station to assign.
5. Select Save Selected to update only the selected locations, or Save Filtered to update all locations currently matching the applied filters.

The Packing work station type does not have function at this time. This feature will be expanded soon.
